About me

Maqui* and Nuna*

For as long as I can remember, I have been utterly fascinated with expressions of soul. As a kid, my world revolved around music, singing and dancing. A bit later, at age 23, I realised that my soul is a traveller. I travelled across Latin America and called Argentina my home for three years. I was a student of cultural sciences and immersing myself into this new culture, that was both foreign and familiar, was transformative in many ways.

When I started entering the professional world as a PR consultant, I was introduced to manufacturers and handmade treasures. I literally fell in love working with KPM Berlin, one of Europe's most renowned Porcelain Manufacturers. Creating cultural heritage by hand - I was captivated. I loved the idea that to experience these wholesome products, you don't have to go to a museum. You can actually make them part of your everyday life.

Maqui is one of my passion projects, hopefully reflecting all of these aspects: treasures from all around the world, made by hand and expression of culture, tradition and - soul. I hope it speaks to yours, too!

*Maqui ("maki") means "hand" and "nuna" "soul" in Quechua, an indigenous language in the Andean Region .
